Today has seen the announcement from Audemars Piguet that there will be a price increase in effect very soon. The New Year will see in many new things for people and will also see the Audemars Piguet price increase implemented on the 01/01/2014. The Cheshire Watch Company has managed to get hold of the new updated Audemars Piguet price list for 2014 and can confirm that the increases will range between 6%-12% on all current and new models for 2014. We all knew to expect something spectacular for Baselworld 2013 with it being a special occasion for a few brands however it was Rolex in particular who were celebrating the 50^th Anniversary of their figure head watch, the Cosmograph Daytona. The usual rumours were circulating as ever when there is a possible change to the Daytona, potential oversized version, dated option or perhaps the inclusion of ceramic bezels on other models. What I imagine a lot of people did not expect was an absolute showstopper of a piece that was to leave watch lovers breathless and eager in anticipation to see this beauty in the flesh.

A feat no one else has achieved. This is a statement we have grown used to when it comes to Rolex watches as you look back through their history and the achievements they have gained along the way. When Rolex released their teaser video to BaselWorld 2014, everyone who viewed the video talked about the fine fluted bezel, the apparent colour of rose gold, the perhaps blatant imagery of the moon and the lack of the Cyclops on the Crystal. What most people did not realise and only a few of the eagle eyed amongst us did, was that there was two watches shown to us on the video however it is the “fluted bezel” watch that is shown for the longer duration of time. The other watch was shown to us first but only a small glimpse, blink and you’ll miss it. The appearance of this watch was fairly thick in size with a flat bezel and again no Cyclops.
